Ubuntu 9.10 - Enable Video Call

1. Untuk guna ym - x yah install ym. guna preinstalled im yang ada kat ubuntu iaitu Pidgin.
  •  Klik Applications -> Internet -> Pidgin

2. Untuk enable web cam
  • Open a terminal window.
  • Type in the following command:
            sudo apt-get install cheese
  • Run Cheese. Cheese should automatically detect your webcam and display live video stream.
  • To record video or take a snapshot, click either on photo or video and select Take a Photo or Start recording.
  • If Cheese doesn't display the output from your webcam, test that the problem is not with Cheese before trying anything else by using one of the programs in the next section.
  • If Cheese displays a garbled picture or one with poor colour/brightness/contrast, go to the Ubuntu wiki Webcam Troubleshooting page for steps to resolve this.

3. Bila run cheese tu, gambar gelap dan x gerak.. so install guvcview plak..
  •  Install guvcviewfrom the universe repository using the following command:
              sudo apt-get install guvcview
  • Start it from the Applications menu.
  • When the guvcview window opens, select the Video and Files tab.
  • Check that your webcam is listed and selected in the Device: drop-down box. If it is not selected, click on the appropriate entry. If there seems to be more than one entry for your webcam, try changing which one is selected.

Webcam dah boleh capture video.. tapi Pidgin (IM) pulak yang x support video call.

Try Kopete plak..

System -> Administration -> Synaptic Manager - install Kopete.
